How can I improve my life and acknowledge the pain at the same time?

Hello, I have been living with a Chiari 1 Malformation for the last 19 years, I also have many hernaieted and bulging disc in my neck as well as spinal stineousis. I am married and have raised an 18 year old (my greatest accomplishment) I am know trying to learn how to manage and cope with my pain with the help of my wife. I have reached out and there are not many support groups, I guess my question is: what do I have in store for me next....I wake up every moring and because I have woken up it is a good day, I can move my toes, its a good day, can I move my arms, yes it is a fantastic day! Only took me 3 hours to be able to get ready for work today....

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Have you been to a Chiari specialist? Do you know if you have other related conditions? Depending on how your Chiari is affecting you and your overall health,  it is not easy to tell you what you can do to improve your own life.....I had drop attacks and required surgery to correct injuries sustained from my fall....so surgery was my best option.....and since I have other related conditions it took me a bit longer to heal.....but I have no regrets and am very happy with my benefits.....I also found new interests while I was healing.....I do remember feeling as you do and I can tell you it can get better....hang in there and research Drs to find the best one for you.
