Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Congratulations on your surgical date ! This is a huge step for many and a relief as well...but it ca be scary none the less....we all experience this surgery differently as we are different and have other issues from each other...make sure ALL related conditions are taken into account with your surgery...will you be getting  a dura patch?

We do have a list of tips for the hospital stay in the health pages  I will try to get it for you.....

And we also do prayers threads...post your date in the surgery date thread
and a prayer thread will be posted for you.

I was recently diagnosed (after 10 years of misdiagnosis), and I'm ready for something, I wish you the best luck and although I have not had the surgery, I have 18 years medical experience on the caregiving side and we be more than happy to be a shoulder for ya.   I live in Alabama and I have no clue where to go knowing that I will be out of state (many states away) from them.  I'm praying for you and will pray for GOD to hold you in his arms the whole time.  GOD Bless you and your family!

Hey there!!!!! This is Christy, I hope your holidays were great!!!!  I have not heard anything back and wondered if there were other places that you may know of that specialize in this procedure.  I just can't wait much longer.  I need (terribly) need to get back to life and hopefully get back into making money eventually.   My dr visits here and prescriptions are killing us.  My husband makes decent money but it really takes two.  Any suggestions?????

Hi please stay calm!!!! I know you thing it is easy for me to say this but ,I just had my 2sd decompression and a spinal fusion, wichi just want to say that the fusion is so much more painful only because you can't move your head and find a comfortable spot... The thing I did the most when I was in pain is breath, long and slow breathing and stay on the pain meds, and you can do it just fine, give yourself all the time you need to rest and heal...going thru this pain and getting rid of all the other symptoms and pain is well worth it !!!!i keep reminding myself....give yourself a week and you will see a big difference it has been 2 weeks since my surgery and I had some complications, but I am doing well all considered.. The only thing I will keep saying is stay on top of the pain meds and don't let them over take because it is harder to calm me down after ,,you will do great ,I will be praying for you !!! Keep us posted see if there is anyone that can give us an updated after you surgery,my husband and Daughter were the ones who updated my post till I was able to take over!!! Good luck
