Interesting as my heaaches are in the front and sides of my head, very intense but are very short lived. But they are becoming more frequent..I'm thinking of going to see Dr. Kim for a 2nd opinion..
I would suggest u look into getting these other conditions ruled out.....as it can affect the outcome of surgery or how the dr may want to treat u.

hi i too live in houston. i saw dr roc chen who is also on the list. he is downtown on fanin street. he wants to do surgery. i am seeking a second opinion, with dr kim. who is also on the list. i am going today. i am going back and forth figuring out what i am going to do. i have been suffering for about 5 weeks. same thing as you. sneeze or cough get a pain in the back of the head, but this time it did not go away. i had the head ache for 5 weeks straight. now i am starting other symtoms. my face goes in and out of numbness.
Hi Selma, as far as I know I don't have any of the conditions you mentioned. My only complaint is the headaches which are short lived (7-8seconds) when I cough, laugh etc.
I was concerned I had a tumor when I went to the doctor initially as the headaches didn't go away and are now more frequent.I saw a neurologist first who referred me to DR. Kareh after running several more tests after the MRI.
There is not a CSF blockage.
Thanks for your help

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
If the drs name is on our list a member here did see him or her/but not all members continue to be active...so, I do not know who had that dr or if they r still active on the forum....I pray they see ur thread and reply.
DO u know if u have a CSF blockage?
Were u checked for other related conditions like Ehlers-danlos, tethered cord, a syrinx....sleep apnea?
