My herniation is only 4mm and CF flow scan showed "unremarkable CF flow". I don't know if I could still have symptoms in this situation - only that the Neurosurgeon said I was not a candidate for surgery. I would like to get opinions on a few symptoms to see if they sound to those of you who have them, like Chiari symptoms or are just coincidental.
1. Headaches that feel like there is a balloon inside my head that grows and pushes on the back of my head, my eyes and the roof of my mouth. When this pressure is bad, talking feels like it makes the balloon bigger.
2. Numbness feeling, for lack of a better term, on my scalp. Cannot wear anything on my head - even put my sunglasses up without them feeling like they weigh several pounds and the feeling remains even when the item is removed.
3. Numbness in hands. Happens in both hands but primarily left (I am right handed) and always starts as middle and ring fingertips and as is worsens, moves into my hand. This occurs most often while holding a hairdryer and driving.
4. Heavy/fatigue in both forearms.
5. Extreme pain in head and neck with orgasm.
6. I have had 5 episodes of choking/gagging while eating where it felt like my throat was "spazing out" or the muscles just kept working up and down in short bursts.
7. Headrush/pressure feeling with straining with BM or sneezing or coughing.
8. Trembling in legs. Does not affect my walk, usually only notice it when I am still.
I am 39 years old and have not had any accidents or other health issues besides varicose veins after pregnancies in the last 15 years. These symptoms came on all of the sudden about 2 years ago. They come and go, except for the numbness and trembling which I have daily.
Thank you for your time.
