Crooked brain stem?

Hello! So I finally got my records sent to me, and though my nuerologist said everything was fine except a spasm in my loratic curve, and that it was tight where I had surgery but the CSF flow was fine, I noticed something in my mri, and I wanted to know if it was normal. When I look at pictures of MRI I notice that the brain stem is usually pretty straight. So I'm wondering if mine looks crooked or bent to anyone, and could it possibly be causing my symptoms?

Hi ...yes you do have a bent or kinked brainstem and BI could be the reason and needs to be looked at as it can and will cause all sorts of issues as this is putting pressure right on the brain stem.

We are not medical professionals here, but I would deff ask about this....

The pics are not clear enuff to see why the brain stem is bent but the shape is wrong....indicating something is amiss....

The correct term is known as Basilar Invagination. As the brain stem should be a perfectly straight line. There are symptoms that come along with this such as dizziness, neck pain, confusion, loss in sensation, limb weakness, electric type shock feelings along the spine, and some others that I have yet to experience. But it is also associated the Chiari. So some of these symptoms are also under Chiari at least for me. But your images are to black and white but you can see that your brainstem isn't as straight as it should be. Hope this helps you.

No, the shape of the brainstem alone won't cause any symptom no matter how kinked it is. If you send better images we could look at it. For now it's way too black&white.
