Here is the link to the archived webinar.  Once powerpoint appears, it is about two minutes before the actual speaking begins. There is a smal window (about 90 seconds) where the audio fee dis lost in teh middle of the discussion.

Hi! I am currently looking for that webinar online, I would really like to watch it. I havent found it yet.  My neursurgeon also said something similiar about the Cine Mri, he said he knew I already had obstruction, sinceI had a syrinx.  HE said he does them so that if surgery is opted for, he has a before and after comparison and he could compare flow and make sure it is better. But he said it didnt influence his thoughts, he saw blockage that he expected.  My NS also said that he would be doing a patch with my own pericranium.
Im def. leaning more towards the surgery....sigh..
ok, im off to find that video!
Thanks again!

Hi Mazie,

Yep, your MRI looks a lot like mine before surgery except that my syrinx was wider and a bit longer but in the same spot.

Did you happen to watch the Chiari webinar today done by the head NS at Mischer institute at University of Texas? You should google the institute and look around for the link and watch it if you didn't. I have seen several of these and thought this one was very good. One of the new pieces of info for me was that the CINE MRI is not a very useful tool for determining good surgical candidates.  Not that it will hurt to have it but he said it really doesn't give the full picture regarding flow. I thought he was very reassuring about surgery and the outcomes and risks. I would have been much less freaked out if I had seen this before my surgery. I think it would be helpful for you. He also talks about surgical options and the need for duraplasty if you have a syrinx. I got the very strong impression that he recommends surgery for anyone with a syrinx that is showing any signs of growth or causing symptoms. Let me know if you can't find it!

Yes, this last one was a CINE. I pposted results about a week ago "lurking" post...Im the one who is soo undecided on surgery....but leaning towards it...due to syrinx.
