We are going to dress the girls up and pass out candy. This way they get what they want. Not too much. And I know it's safe. Plus the walking in the cold and long distances usually adds up to bad for me so it works
They love seeing all the neighborhood and they still are in costume. We have a non fire afterword and warm up with hot chocolate and smores
Happy Halloween to all and hope everyone has a safe night
My son Owen is 15 months and absolutely LOVES pumpkins... he searches for them on walks in the stroller and points them out enthusiastically... its hilarious... he finds them on the TV on posters... in windows... etc.
So we are taking him Trick or Treating with some older boys I babysit for - he's going to be a monkey and our black lab Jami is going to be a banana... haha!! He's going to love all the decorations and seeing all the people... he's so social.
And the bonus - he's so young I get to eat his candy :)... well I'll have to share it with my husband
Happy Halloween everyone!

WOW...love all the festivities.....a banana...LMAO I want to see pics .
Oh and thanks Lizzy, I near peed my pants.... : P
My boys went to trick or trunk at our church on Saturday. We've had trouble with two child abductors in our area recently. It disgusts me! Our church has 700-800 people attend the Sunday services, so I obviously don't know all the members. I just felt safer having them trick or treat there and it was also still light out. I dressed as a clown and told jokes while my bible study group passed out candy. We also had a strong man, a bearded lady, a snake charmer, and etc. My mom, sister, and other family took my boys around. Afterwards, there was a magic show inside the church. Then a bonfire with warm apple cider and whatnot outside. It was a great time. Timmy,my 4 y/o, was Capt. America. Ben, my 3 y/o, was Diego. The blondest Diego you've ever seen!
He he...my 3 year old is going to be a monkey too (which is so fitting-trust me)
Unfortunately, my other two boys are old enough that they always want to be creepy things like evil mad hatters and Freddie Krueger (yuck!!) What can you do?
We are going to go to all the community events this weekend and then trick or treat around our neighborhood which thank goodness is a lot of older people and very safe.
My oldest son wants to go with his friends though...sniff...sniff..
I hope everyone has a fun, safe Halloween and don't eat too much candy!!
