How do you know if your surgeon is a chiari specialist

I have had a decompression surgery. I have been doing better since I had it in October. I did start to leak spinal fluid after being released but my doctor over stitched it and kept me flat for another 3 days. Now he seems to act like I have been cured completely and brushes me off a lot during the visit. Doing some searching I have seen people talk about the surgeon being a specialist in Chiari. How do you know if the doctor is?

Hi Kat and welcome to the Chiari forum.

A Dr that is a true Chiari specialist will have Chiari and ALL related conditions as the main focus of their practice....IE it will be first on the list of specialties for that Dr.....and the rest of the list will have related conditions to Chiari.

On reading the Drs bio you should also read how they do research into Chiari and related conditions.

Did you have ALL related conditions ruled out?
