EDS

I have been to a CM specialist and have been sent for other tests but EDS hasnt been mentioned and I am concerned that this hasnt been ruled out.  I am extremely tall for a woman.  I hemorrhaged after both of my miscarriages (fortunately I did have 2 great boys) but had to have emergency surgery after both of those. Very difficult time with getting pregnant and pregnancy.  Had the dental crowding before I spent thousands on my teeth.  Peridontal disease inspite of good dental care.  Bruise easily.  And very loose joints.  Can bend my fingers backwards etc. At times my knees want to pop backwards. There is more that fits but I cant remember.  So tell me where do I go to rule this out? Geneticist or Rheumatologist?  Does this sound like it may be EDS?

Geneticist. They review your medical records, administer the b. Scale flexibility test, and you are asked re family history.  Everything you said points to EDS Hypermobility. It’s a dominant gene (50% chance your kids will have it).

Do you know if there may be a list somewhere?  I would like to find someone closer if possible. If not I will have to travel.  Traveling wears me out these days.  I know I need to get this ruled out.  Thanks Selma I can always count on you.

Hi...from what I am told a Geneticist and a rheumatoid dr...in fact, the EDS specialist I have heard of is a Rheummy and she sends u to a Geneticist.....this dr is in Baltimore , MD,...if u r interested her name is Dr Francamano (sp?)

It sounds like u may have EDS and knowing for sure b4 u have surgery will only be a help to u and ur surgeon and ur healing process.

I am also slow to heal...have u noticed that?...I was almost 12 months post op when my incision finally stopped oozing.....
