Ear fullness

Hi guys,  its been a bit for me posting in here.  This question is for everyone but also for selma.  I read an old thread selma in 2011 where you were experiencing ear fullness/pressure even after a year.  I wanted to know do you still get this symptom?  I am now 4 months post op and out of no where i start hearing like i am under water.  No pain just really annoying like i need to pop my ears.    Nothing is helping.   I know i am still healing but any clue what this is from?  I keep qondering if fluid is,stuck in there lol.  Any advise?

Sorry, PND is  Post  Nasal Drip.....it  can  cause  ear  fullness.

When  do  you  go  back  to  see her...do  you  get a  1  yr  post op MRI  or did   they  do  yours  already?

Post  op  care  is  lacking  by  ALL  the Drs  as  they are  surgeons....unless there is  an issue  with the incision  or  surgery itself  we  are  on  our  own....this is where  a well informed  PCP  or  NL  can  help.

Hi selma,  what is pnd?  I knew you were 5 years and that was why i asked you specifically.  I never really epected surgery to rid all of my symptoms but am a little thrown off at this new one that i have never exoerienced outside of a cold (the ear fullness).  My tonsils were resected so i am hoping the flow has been restord.  My ns is a chiari specialist but the post op care is a little lacking so unless i am having major pain issues she wont do much.  The ear fullness isnt causing pain just so hard to be around noise because the fullness seems to make it all louder.  Anyway thanks ladies.

Hi Elisa how are you in recovery?  My surgery was july 7 so 4 months ago today.  For the most part i am doing well.  But i have found that if i get sick it really sets off symptoms for me and they all seem to in my head, literally.  So evn after cold symptoms are gone it takes my chiari symptoms a while to go away after.  But the last few weeks have been tough... Huge increase in symptoms.  My latest one of this ear fullness so to speak is really annoying.  I am really sensitive to noise durin this time and my ears are easily over stimulated if that makes sense.  I had pnuemonia in th last few weeks and lets just say the coughing was painful on my head.  I got thru it though but could be paying the price.  I am working full time and find that sitting at a computer all day can be painful on my neck. Lots of burning when i sit too long so i am trying to,get up more to help that. But what about you?

Hi,,,.yes  I  do  get  it  from  time to  time....not  sure if  it  is  my PND  issues tethered cord  or  EDS....sometimes  our  other  related conditions  can  cause similar  symptoms as  well  as  some  meds  we  are  on,

Keep  in  mind  I  am  5 yrs  post  op....and it is possible  to continue  to  have symptoms  as  surgery may  not  relieve them, it is done to help with symptoms....but  the main  reason for surgery is  to  restore  CSF  flow...slow  progression of a syrinx  or development of  one.

Elisa  has  a point...what  are  you  doing  on a daily  basis  as you could  be doing  too much  too soon....

Hi Mel,
I remember your surgery being around the same time as my own. I am wondering how your recovery is progressing. The ear pressure you describe sure sounds distracting. I hope you can find some relief for it.

I just wanted to say hello and let you know that I am wondering about your recovery and your level of activity.
