Floating Headache?

HI everyone I hope you are all having a pain free day today
I just wanted to ask if anyone here has had headaches that seem to move to different parts of the head??? It may ound wierd if you have not but I swear that I can have a headache move to 4 or 5 spots on my head in a few hours time?!?! My PT thinks it may be spasms (sp?) Any Ideas and if so what helped? This has only been going on in the last few weeks since my MVA

Yes it does!!

I agree with your PT, it could very well be muscle issues that are causing the problem. I get headaches like that as well that I consider more of an outer nature....I have extremely sore spots on different parts of my head. The pain just radiates all around from point to point. When I rub the painful places I can actually feel a tiny hard muscle and it rolls under my finger. It really is an awful type of headache for sure..

I'm sorry that it is going to take so long to see Dr. Muller..is there any way that you can get put on a cancellation list? Sometimes you can get in a lot quicker that way.

Thanks for your imput! :) It is nice to know I am not crazy!
The doctor seemed to understand and gave me a long acting pain med and mucle relaxers so fingers crossed it will help!
I also saw my NS today who will do the surgery (thinks it should be done and from all I have read I think maybe it should to ) though he will not even think of it till all the MVA issues are gone and he does not think many of the syptems are from Chiari including my numbness in my face and arm :S URGH the NS in Toronto (who I found on here) is going to take nearly a yr to get into !!!!
Just do not want to keep waiting and not sure about "settling" on this doctor (though sure he is capable just not very knowledgeable)
My PT I think I trust the most in all of this ...he has been great is not working directly on my neck because he does not want to aggrivate it more :)

*sigh* now to wait to get a day that I go to Dr. Muller and see what happens inbetween I guess and go from there

P.S As if you don't all know but this *****!!!

Hi.....it's not weird...yup I have had that happen too....it is diff to explain to a dr cuz it sounds like u r a bit off the beam when u describe ur HA's and say well sometimes it hurts here, and then it hurts there.,....but yes, u r not alone with this.

Since u were in a MVA it could be whip lash....the way the muscles twist affect diff  nerves as a result and will cause pain all over....I had whip lash post a MVA as well and it can really mess u up in addition to having chiari.....

Ur PT may not be far off with the spasms....just be careful with ne neck work they may try to do on u....they should work on ur shoulder blade area.....but if u do indeed have whip lash, it will increase ur HA's.
