Gagging Aids

Question

Hi! Does anyone have tips for gagging?  Drinking fluids constantly or cough drops (mild cases) help, but I am constantly gagging right now. It coincides with the back of my head throbbing incessantly. Thanks a lot!

Sorry...I do not know what else to suggest....except if u r indeed on meds for reflux, have u modified ur diet too?

If u still r eating foods that cause acid then it fights the efforts of the meds....elevate the head of ur bed....do not eat for 3 to 4 hrs prior to lying down, no dairy product later in the day...dairy slows the LES and allows the acids up where u do not want them and elevating the bed uses gravity to keep the acids down where they belong.

It is very important that u modify diet and lifestyle along with meds to help a reflux issue. U can not take meds and continue to eat rich spicy acidic foods...drink soda, or alcohol, smoke cigarettes and think it has no effect...it does, it will....

I am not suggesting that u sanukilady r doing ne of the things I listed, I listed these items for neone that has a reflux issue  that might read this thread  : )

Thanks a lot!  I didn't eat any of those things.  I actually need to eat more in general, but it I gagged randomly but always upon contact with cold air that day.

I will be more mindful of my diet.

I am taking something for both, but I am still gagging.  I tried some food just a few minutes ago, but no help.  I need to get to some equilibrium before heading to the car...  Gaggilicious Moi + Cold Air = Disaster.

I don't think I'm getting much done today at all.

Hi...I know this will only add to the HA's u already deal with so finding a way to curtail  this will help.

First, have u been checked for post nasal drip?...reflux...many with chiari do have these issues and both promote gaging as well as just having chiari...I found once on my GERD/reflux meds I did not gag as much...I do have PND so when that is a bother I use a saline nasal spray ...a netti pot is also helpful.
