Has anyone seen Dr. Steven Haines at the U of M?

Trying to find another NS, and wondering if anyone has seen Dr. Steven Haines at the hospital at the University of Minnesota? Trying to stay in state for insurance reasons. Just thought I would put it out there and see what happens.

Hi...well many times there r dead give aways ...like the nurse or office staff not knowing what chiari is or how to spell it....

And next is once u see the NS, what he says to u....if he does not look to see if u have a CSF blockage or overcrowding and says he doesn't think ur  symptoms r due to ur chiari....than u may want to get another opinion.But a specialist is one that treats chairi everyday....

U may be able to ask the scheduling person....or ask to speak to the dr, it is possible this dr does chiari surgeries, but u want one that does nothing but chiari surgery.
Check with ur insurance if they will cover for u to go out of state to get to a specialist or if they can help u locate one in state.....

I looked at the list, but didn't see any listed for Minnesota. I am hoping to stay in state. Not sure how to find out if he is a chiari specialist or not, but it is listed under his clinical interests. The other NS I saw didn't have anything about chiari. How do I know if he is or not?

Hi...I have not seen that name b4, but  that does not mean  much....I do not know all the chiari drs out there, but will caution u to be sure the NS is a true chiari specialist...look at out list.....that will be the best indication if that dr is/was a members dr if it is on the list.
