I'm having a rough time

I know exactly why:  time of year, stress from DH's broken leg (WHY are they babying him?!),  not recovering as fast & well as I had hoped, and looking at a lonely & boring Christmas.

But, not one to remain long in victimhood, this is what I'm doing--I'm reading "Full Catastrophe Living", the classic book on stress reduction (including coping with illness), I'm going to watch Bill Moyers' PBS ahows on "Healing and the Mind", and I'm going to practice qigong again.  (for awhile I was too sick to even do that).
Therapists have witnessed qigong's healing both physically & emotionally, and are now teaching it (at least here).  I know that they have been inteoduced to it at conferences.  My therapist cured her own Sjrogren's Syndrome with 6 yr. of qigong practice; her bloodwork is completely normal now!

I hope my early New Year's resolutions help someone out there in Chiariland.

I am glad u found something to keep u moving forward...I hope u got a copy for ur DH too...lol...

My concern with this Qigong is some arm movements can be difficult for chiarians, nething higher then shoulder level can cause issues...so do be careful....other then that it sounds wonderful.

Praying u have a Merry Christmas : )

Did he act like *everything* was broken?
Honestly, when I think how I've had to push myself...!!!  This was a bad week, back to vomiting & pain, and NOT the direction I want to be going.  Not to mention not being able to see any family for Christmas.

Qigong (or chi gong) is the healing version of martial arts.  I have a DVD of an American woman, Lisa O'Shea who developed a simple version.  It's like a   standing w/arm movements meditation, with visualization of healing energy.  Not feet movement like tai chi, which could be bad if balance is impaired.  I don't seem to have the patience for sitting in a chair meditation.  :(

I know how u feel about your DH broken leg and his attention. For 11 days after my first surgery my bf broke his collarbone and suddenly it was all about him even tho I was the one with brain surgery. Honestly men can't handle pain like we can, lol....your ideas sound great....looks like only we can get ourselves outta our hole......what is qigong?!
