I didn't have a leak so I don't have much to add. But I was told by my NS that it was very uncommon...only about a 3% chance..so the odds are good :) I was also told the surgery was a low risk surgery...as brain surgeries go. I would just picture that my NS probably did operations like aneurysm repairs, tumor removals etc...and mine would be a walk in the park for him!
There are always complications to be concerned about with any surgery...but for most of us we come out of it just fine.

A small hole can hurt really bad....I had one from a epidural during birth of my DD.....
...generally u should lie flat drink plenty of water and have caffeine to help it close on it's own (which mine did)....They use a blood patch after u lie flat for 4 to 5 days if it doesn't close on it 's own...and if the patch doesn't work the first time they may repeat it once more, then surgery is required if all that fails.
Complications would be meningitis ....major HA's ...believe it or not worse than ur worst chiari HA....
I may be missing something...but that i off the top of my head ...I am sure someone will add to it that have dealt with one after a PFD.
