pain shot in the neck

Hello every one.  I haven't been on line for all most a year due to no computer, but I'm  back on line thank goodness  because this forum is the only thing I know I can come to and you understand what is going on.  An update of what I have been through.  1st surgery June 2010, CSF leak 2nd surgery Aug 2010, lumbar drain in for 10 day's didn't fix leak so I had 4th surgery Sept 27 2010 my last surgery almost did me in.  My body went into shock and I am just now starting to feel o.k.  My Dr has just advised me not to go back to work which has been very hard to deal with I love my job and the people that I worked with.  I went to the Dr. yesterday explaining that I still get headaches though they are different.  I can't  bend over for any period of time it really brings on the headaches.  Have any of you deal with sensitivity to noise.  I can't tolerate being in a room full of people?  Now the Dr suggest for me to go to a pain clinic to get shot's for pain.  Has any one have to do this?  I am afraid to have it done.  If any one know's I would really appreciate your opinion.  I have been through so much.  I just don't know if the shot's would work.  I am just tired of being in pain all the time.  I still can't lift anything over 10 pound's.  Any one else have these problems after having surgery for their Chair?  Please help me.  Thanks so much.

I don't know what you mean by  ICP?  I know my dr keep's telling me I have to be patient and that I am really doing well for having 4 surgeries within 4 month's.  You seem so knowledgeable about all of this.  So I appreciate all your information you have given me.  As I said before I haven't been on line for almost a year, but a lot of your infomation you gave me before surgery sure helped. Example. questions to ask dr and what to espect.  I thank you. You helped me to decide to have surgery and I have no regret's about it.

  Welcome Back !!

I felt the same as u with crowds and the noise....plus there is just too much going on I can no focus on on conversation....so I always feel lost in a crowd....or where there r multiple convos going on at once.

I am wondering since u had more surgeries and issues if it just may take a little more time for u to feel more comfortable in these situations...at 1 yr post op I still did not want to go out to diner etc....but at 2 1/2 yrs it is getting easier.

The HA's u have when u bend sounds like u may want to rule out ICP...did they look at that?

It can take time b4 u begin to see improvements and I saw the most at my 2 yr zipperversary then I did at 1 yr.

Glad u r back, but so sorry u r still feeling so badly.
