surgery questions

Hi Everyone,
I'm getting the surgery jitters since my PFD is coming up August 20th at Cleveland Clinic.  I have read from someone to take a stool softener the night before.  Anymore tips? I'm also wondering what a six hour trip home after being released from the hospital will be like.  Anyone have any insight on traveling after the surgery?

I'm home from work today with one of my episodic days, (pressure in head with standing, painful tingling in hands and feet, spinal pain, etc. ).  It's days like this that reassures me that I need to go through with the surgery!

When you have some time browse through the Health pages...top right corner, the tab under discussions. There is pages of information there that you may want to read!

Having symptoms  that are interfering with your life always makes it easier to get the surgery done!!

I would ask ur dr about the stool softener and when to take it....I didn't do that until after surgery....but I do have IBS so I had no issues going in...I was cleaned out....

But do talk to ur dr b4 u take nething!

Take ur own pillow along and use it in the car, plane whatever...recline ur seat just enuff so the pillow has u sitting upright....it helps hold ur head from bobbing all around.

We do have a thread to help with items to take along to the hosp...ect....http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Neurological%20Disorders/Tips-for-the-Hospital-Stay/show/1136?cid=186

And afterward

It is normal to be nervous.....

Hang in there : )
