Looking for help for my niece

My niece is 25yrs old and has been diagnosed with Chiari 1 Malformation. She lives out of state. She has no insurance in Texas she has medicaid in  Indiana which they say is not valid in Texas. There are no specialist in her state that treat this. She doesn't have any income cause she can not work due to chiari. Plus she is raising 2 children. My question is. Is there anything or place she could go here for help. I live in Texas so she can come stay with me while she's getting treatment. Just wondering I know Baylor at times works with people that doesn't have health insurance. I just don't know even where to start looking or even what to do. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi laginalandon and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Outside of her moving back to the state she has some form of INS. or getting some for where she is, the only resource I know of is the NIH as they do clinical trials for Chiari.....she would have to look at the NIH site to see  what new trials they are welcoming new  people to.......

I also want to say how wonderful it is that she has you advocating for her and offering  the support so many of us lack.
