Low Lying cerebral tonsils?

My names David and I was in a car accident almost a year ago and left hospital ER said scan looked good no masses or bleeding and everything was good. A after that I started seeing a Chiropracter for lower back, as I was seeing him he had told me he received my paper work and said that idk if you were informed but the scan said you had low lying cerebellar tonsils at which he said you probley had your whole life and don't worry about it. I was dumb founded that I wasn't informed by the ER but what can you do. It recommended that I go in for a MRI but had issues with insurance at the time and shrugged it off. At this time I was having major issues with my sinuses which required surgery I had sinusitis and infection and poylps. Also have had a ton of pressure in my face and forehead and have had a steady headache for about a year and only seems to get worse. So I just had my sinus surgut ya couple weeks ago and sinuses seemed to improve but have the headaches have been on and off but pressure has still be present which brings me here. After googling and researching this cerebral tonsil thing I've been seeing a lot of people with pressure and headaches amongst other symptoms that I believe I might have. Other than these symptoms, I don't think I've had any other issues pertaining to this- btw I'm 24 years old and had spinabifida as a baby- idk if this is related but would appreciate some feedback this is the first time I've reached out

Keep in mind not everyone will experience these....it is just one of the many symptoms that are possible.

A drop attack can appear to resemble someone passing out or fainting...but it is a little different in that when u pass out u can feel it coming on...buzzing sensation etc...but with a drop attack, the CSF flow is interrupted/flipped off and the signals for standing walking etc stop for a second or 2 and flips back on so that u may be aware u r falling mid-fall but can not react or call out..or know why  u r falling.

It can also take some time once u fall to come out of it and be able to get together and move on....

Many Drs do not inform patients on these findings...even if u went to a NS or NL and had the testing, as many consider it an incidental finding....

We do have a thread as the list the Drs have is nothing compared to what we really deal with and by Drs I mean Chiari specialists....so do look for the Unofficial Symptoms List...

Headaches, pressure, dizziness, drop attacks, tremors in arms, leg pain, low back pains...all over joint pains....vision issues...

As I said do look at the list.

First off thanks for responding. I have been told anything besides from the chiro, which I thought was weird like why didn't the ER call me. They don't tell people these things!? But it did say the recommended an MRI which I think they kind of do that for money and idk if any of the headaches is related or not but was frustrated after I still had the pressure after he sinus surgery. But besides the pressurei don't think or know if I have any other symptoms to low lying tonsils . Can you tell me if what are common symptoms and issues due to this? Thx

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum,.
Yes, Chiari and Spina Bifida are related....and Chiari can be either congenital (since birth) or acquired... if it is acquired, it can happen after an accident, but congenital Chiari can be triggered by an accident or fall too....with ur history if SB I would think ur Chiari is congenital.

Many with Chiari do have sinus issues, reflux, thyroid issues...we r prone to auto immune and connective tissue disorders.

As for not being told, many Drs view a Chiari finding as incidental and normal....ugh...which we know is not right.

We also have been told no Chiropractor adjustment on ur neck and shoulder area as it can make the symptoms worse.
