decompression surgey / 6 week check up

Hi everyone,
I post about a month ago, about my baby girl (2) who had her first decompression surgery.
Well on the 21st she will be going in for her first surgery check-up  (6 wks post op).
She's seems to be doing okay, since surgery.. she's starting to get back to her 100% active little self.
She really doesn't let anything slow her down... she does have a 5 yr old big brother to keep up with.
I haven't notice anything different or strange with her ...since surgery (I've been probably over watching her!)
I'm happy to say that. I've been a nervous wreck for her, since surgery.
It's amazing how quickly little ones bounce back.. and with the help of God.. she's been albe to do ok.

Is there anything I should be asking at her surgery check-up?
Anything her Neurosurgen should be looking for... asking us about??  This is the first major surgery in our family..
I was going to ask him when her check-up MRI would be..
How do you tell if she could have a fluid build-up around the surgery site (like on the inside - I know there is a real term for that... and I can't remember? sorry)
Any advice would be great.. thank you.

Hi Rachel...it is so good to hear Kaity is doing well, thanks for the update : )

U will want to ask when she will have post op MRI's...and if she will be seen at 6months post op and 1 yr...and ask the NS if they know of a good NL that u could go to close to home when needed....Once ur DD is released from the NS's care, u will need a NL if u need a new DX.

Oh u mean a pseudomeningocele ...first with ne CSF leak..when she changes position she would feel worse...the HA's would be bad, and vomiting may accompany this...plus u would see the sack of fluid that forms...many times it is visible.

SO happy to hear the good news and we look forward to hearing more good news after her visit : )
