How was your visit with Dr. Kim. I loved him. He looked at all of my scans and even found an arachnoid cyst that was missed by Dr. Jackson and Dr. Oro. I was very pleased..hope you had the same experience.
My report states 7mm below the foramen magmum. Im coming from Orange so it is about a 2hr drive for me...looks like we both have a good lil drive a head of us!
We will most likely cross paths today..isn't that cool! I can check for posts from my phone..I'd love to meet you. It's nice to put a face with fellow Chiarians. I'm so encouraged that you liked Dr. Madan.
Mine is at 4:00 Today. Hopefully we can both find out something today!
I hate to be so forward...It's just that I don't want to be brushed off again. I really need someone that will be willing to listen and help.
Yes..today at 2 pm. I'm preparing to leave Waco now...it's 3 1/2 hrs for me to drive there. What is your herniation size?
I saw Dr. Madan last monday Dec. 10th and I really liked her. She is very nice and topk the time to explain everything to me. She refered me to Dr. Kim and I am actually going to see him today, Dec. 18. We found him and Dr. Madan on our own as well and their office has done a GREAT job of working me in. I am hoping to find out more today when I see Dr. Kim.
Is your appointment also today?
Dr. Kim is listed as a chiari specialist on the International Chiari Association's website. I'm leaving in a few minutes for my appt with him. I'm trying to not be too hopeful. I'll update when I get back from Houston.
Now that u mention who he operated on, I do believe someone else asked about that Dr...use the search this community feature to find an older thread on this topic and u can see what the other member said about their encounter with the Dr.
I have an appt. with Dr. Madan and Dr. Kim this coming Tuesday. Anything I need to know?
I have an appt with Drs. Madan and Kim in Houston this coming Tuesday. Dr. Kim has a very informative Webinar online..just google Dr. **** Kim, chiari. He is the NS that operated on Gabrielle Giffords. I'm looking forward to meeting him and will post after my experience. His office worked me in after I gave my diagnosis. I was impressed with that..otherwise I wouldn't be able to get in until late January. I've been disappointed by a couple of "specialists"..so I found Dr. Kim on my own. He reportedly does 40-60 decompressions a year.
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
Thank u for sharing ur Drs info....did u have surgery already?
Once members have had surgery we ask them to add their Dr info to the list, this way we know it was successfully treated and the patient can research to find the Dr that is right for them as they not only need to be well experienced, but the member should be comfortable with them as well.
How far post op r u , if u had surgery?
I was just recently diagnosed with Chiari. There is a neurologist that specializes in Chiari her name is Dr. Madan and I really liked her. She explained everything to me and refered me to a Neurosurgeon Dr. Kim. They are part of Memorial Herman hospital system, the website is mhmni.com.
Hope this helps
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
We have a list of Drs other members here have been to and liked...the list is not a referral and it does not imply all on the list are true Chiari specialists, but it is a means to help u start ur research of Drs in ur area. Keep in mind u may have to travel. The list may be located in the Health Pages - along with other helpful info like ?'s for the NS etc...
