How to get rid of some pain

What tricks do you guys do?  Tonight the back of my head is burning and I have a bad headache.  My eyes have a lot of pressure and hurt.
If anyone recalls, no one has sat down with me yet, it's all been over the phone.  Telling me what I have and that I have to see a surgeon.
The only med I've been given is for the vertigo.

It's a very bad night and I'm desperate for ideas, combing Motrin and tylenol is not working.

Jenny.....try soaking in a warm bath with soft music and scented candles....relax as much as possible.....

I am not sure if u saw the Health Page  titled anti inflammitory foods.....some foods can cause issues and chiari and swelling go hand in hand...so if u eat foods that work like tylenol it can only help.

Meditation is also something that can help with pain....posture is something the NL at TCI said to focus on too....in particular he said to try the Feldenkrais method.

so sorry you are in so much pain tonight, jorlex.  the only thing that helps me at all is heat.  but i have never had the burning sensation you describe....maybe ice would be better for you?  do you have a bag of frozen peas?  sounds silly, but it is easy to adjust them for the sake of comfort.  it might be worth a try...i hope you feel better soon!
