I'm knew here. I was recently diagnosed with chiari and will be having surgery on Oct 23rd. Can anyone give me a general idea of what to expect post -op? Any tips are welcomed. Thanks:-)

Welcome to the group Stephanie:) Sorry you had to find it yet that is how so many of us found our way here. We were scared and searching for answers. 2 days till surgery! I will add you to my prayer list as well (and wear purple). As Selma said Steph take it easy post op. If you have questions or need support along the way the group here is great!

No worries...we post Prayer threads for members when they head in for surgery.,..I hope it is ok with u, if I post one for u?...and I hope u have someone that can post updates on ur progress.
Being nervous, or scared at this point is "normal"....I think we r all or were...so no worries there either.,...
Just take it a day at a time....and do make sure u have help for when u come home as u need to be waited on hand and foot : )

Well if 10 reply u may get 10 diff suggestions as we r all diff and will experience this completely different as well.....however, we do have a list of tips for the hospital stay in the Health Pages....it is compiled from other threads such as this....so it is a good source of info.
I will say this, rest, rest and then rest some more..do not do much post op no matter how well u feel as it could be med induced and u could have set backs as a result. http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/list?cid=186
