Hello. Sorry to hear of the symptoms you're having. While nausea, vomiting and weight loss can be associated with Chiari, they can be symptoms of many other things as well. In light of the sudden onset and the severity of these symptoms it would be a good idea to be evaluated by your Dr. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon :-) Lisa
Hi...I echo Lisa's above post....it can be, and many of us do have a auto immune thyroid condition called Hashimoto's where u can go from normal levels to being hypo or hyper so weight loss or gain can occur quickly....and then sometimes it stays constant for a long period.
See ur Dr and do have testing for a thyroid issue, and that would include free T3 and free T4 and TPO antibodies as well as TSH....just TSH levels can not help classify if u have an issue or not.
Other issues that the nausea could be from is acid reflux.....so do ask ur Dr to check u for these issues....
Lastly just being dizzy can cause the nasuesa....so be aware of how u r feeling...keep a journal as it may help ur Dr pin point the issue.
I am 4 weeks post-op and have had the same problems. I have lost 15 lbs. since surgery and nothing has been staying down. Stopped all medication thinking it might be that but it wasn't. Now I am just on my anti-nausea every 4 hours and feeling okay, but a little instead on my feet. Hope you feel better soon and remember recovery is a lengthy process
