Hi...i understand u as i also have bad experience with.doctors.what the hell does this doctor know how we feel???he cannot put it all together...some people are able to work, others are not.i mean living in constant pain is enough plus the freak show going on in our heads...honestly to people telling this i would like them to go through a chiari day...they would go running crying to the next doctor and ask for help...a lot of chiarians are misdiagnosed with fibro...but it can be coexisting.are u comfortable with.ur dr?is he a specialist/nl?dont be frustrated as we know what u r going through
For what it is worth I was also told fibro yrs ago...and a yr b4 I had my surgery I was dx'd with EDS and told that is the pain I was feeling not fibro......who knows...it is possible to have both too....but, until u get things checked and try meds u will not be able to rule it out.
Chiari pain does not respond to the meds for fibro....so, humor them...it may or may not help.
Sorry, I hope u feel better soon, a change in seasons always is a sore time for me as well.
"selma"
I can tell you that I have been dx'd with both as well, and for quite some time I didnt know what was causing what. One of my drs say that it is the fibro causing the all over pain and hurt, one says fibro does not exist that it is a term for drs to use when (going to quote) " Dr;s dont know what the hell is wrong". So, I honestly know what you mean about being so confused. Is it both ..is it one....is it the Chiari masking as fibro? Hang in there sweetie and I sure hope that you feel better. I have a post in my journal about robitussin and how it helps fibro. The remedy helps me when I feel like you described, so maybe it would be worth a try....check it out if you can.
I also was told I had fibro prior to chiari and eds diagnosis
Thankd for the advice..doctors don't know what they are talking about and not one of them can be in our shoes for a day.....this was not my specialist but my family doctor that said....all I know is that my entire body is in alot of pain right now and I don't know if it's fibro or chiari....
I just want this all to go away and just be normal again...but since I know it won't I'm dealing with it in the best way possible....accepting it......Thanks again!
Know u r not alone in that and we r here...so rant vent what ever when ever...we don't mind and we do understand : )
I also was dx'd with Fibro, while on the journey of having surgery. I am beginning to wonder also if this is just a dx'd that they try to brush us off with? They did have me on Lyrica, but insurance wouldn't cover it so now I am on Keppra 250 mg twice a day and it does seem to help with the pain of fibro, but as Selma said nothing really deals with the pain of Chairi. You made the statement of accetpance. This is my new word in my vocabulary. Because until we can except Chairi it's then we can accept and deal with what ever our day's hands us. I think we all can say we never know what the day will bring, but we deal with it. We know we are not crazy. I feel we as Chairian must have a strong will because only us who deal with this can understand. Your in my heart, and know that it does get better.
Linda :)
