Not a ? or Chiari related. Prayer request

Hello everyone! This morning my my 6 yr old godson Rylan will head into surgery, one of many, to close a hole in the roof of his mouth. He was born with cleft lip, and pallete, and he is so special to me. As I head to the hospital this morning, I wanted to ask you all to keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I know this forum is in support of Chiari, but it would mean alot to me. It should be a simple procedure only lasting about and hour or 2. but this is his first surgery since he was small, and I believe he is a little frightened this time. Thank you in advance.
Most of us wish that Chiari, if it was visible would help others understand. The fact of the matter is that his medical problems have been more than visible, and people response to him, are long awkward stares, weird questions, etc, so maybe in hindsight we are blessed not to have our Chiari be seen, though it would be easier to convinve a dr. we we're not crazy. Anyway, heading to  the hospital. Have a good monday all.

Aw ~ Jiggle thank you so much. he is so strong.

He is still doing well, in a bit of pain, but otherwise healing well, and ready to eat something:)
His mom and I have known each other for the past 15 years, and she is one that is always there for me, and vice versa. I never had a brother or sister, but between her and our other 2 friends, we are like a family, and those are my sisters if you ask me.
They really have done such an amazing job with him. It is beautiful work. You can on,y tell if you look at the very top right of his lip where there is a tiny scar from where they closed the lip. I will keep you guys updated and if I can find a picture of him I will share. Have a good day everyone.

YAAAAY for Rylan!!!!  Sounds like a brave little boy. Wayne( the friend of Mom) had 18 I believe. I coulnt tell by appearance, but noticed a little whisper sound to his words. I'm so glad he is at home resting and I'm sure Momma is much happier to have him there as well. Will look forward to hearing how he does in the next few days. She is pretty blessed to have such an amazing little guy AND a faithful friend in you!

I am so happy to hear everything went well.  Your little ones wing's didn't go away they are hidden so no one else can see.  Little kid's can be cruel so they all have to get a chance to look in the inside.  God bless you all, and this will make him stronger.  He is already stronger than most.

Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart. Rylan came through his surgery with no complications and to our suprise is already home resting. We were expecting a few days in the hospital. I showed his mom the post while we were waiting at the hospital and she was so thankful and she said you are all so sweet. He is a real trooper. THis was his 6 th surgery, and there are plenty more in his future. I really appreciate all the love prayers, and hugs. People can be cruel. The surgeons have done such an amazing job though that unless you know that he has it, you woul dhonestly never know. His mom and I agree though we miss his wings. His little lips used to wing out when he was a baby, it has since been fixed. Once again thank you to all of you :)

keeping little Rylan in prayers. My mom had a dear friend that had a cleft pallete. From what I remember he was a wonderful well rounded man.  He always said growing up with people staring and making jokes made him a stronger person. Hope to hear that everything went perfectly and healing is has started!

Just sent a prayer up for him! It hurts me so much to know that there are so many children out there that have to deal with deformities (sp?), cancer, illnesses, disease, and yet they are so much stronger than some of us adults. I think they handle it better than we do most of the time but it is so unfair! I pray that God will touch him and all of the family and friends going thru this with him!
