Thanks guys.
It's weird, all of it. I feel like crap too much lately. So tired all the time and nothing feels good anymore. :(
I get this too (the breathing thing). I have a chair that I rely on whenever I need to settle the Chiari situation. It has an adjustable headrest that I angle just a bit so the base of my skull is gently held. And then I recline a bit, must be a gravity thing. You can try stuff out like this but be careful! Don't force anything and try not to put much pressure on the the skull or neck. I think the one thing to keep in mind at all times is to relax the neck muscles, and not bend the neck forward or backward. blaaaa , hope this helps<3
This could be chiari, or related GERD issues...and it could also be a hiatal hernia...
A hiatal hernia could explain the hiccups even with water...and if it is a sliding one, it can put pressure on ur diaphragm ...
Not being a Dr I am just taking stabs in the dark with things it might be, and on;y a Dr can really tell u.
I hiccup regardless of how I drink soda. Straw or none, lol.
I hiccup with water through a straw too though.
Another weird question, I have a hard time breathing certain ways. Walking, and if I lie on my back, also when I'm eating...? I guess a better description would be hard to take a breath.
Hi, it can be the angle of ur head/neck that is creating the pain....and a straw is something I use when I can....as I have avoided tilting my head back for so long...it is just a habit now.....
As for getting the hiccups, are u sure it is the straw and not what u r drinking? IE- soda?....just a thought.
