I also passed the NO neuro exam, lol. My MRI " looked fine".
what do you mean by neuro exam? like when he checks your reflexes, eyes, etc?
yep and strength in the hands. I passed the test but I should have failed based on my strength in the left is supposed to be more than right.
Does anyone know what a thorough neuro exam consists of? I also passed the quick one though I don't think i should have completely because the neurologist didn't bother to ask if i was left handed and I have noticeable weakness in my left arm with certain movements. I didn't even think of it until later and realized he probably found the left sided weakness unremarkable because he assumed I was right handed. I tried some exercises later and found I can now lift significantly less weight with my left arm compared to my right whereas my left arm used to be much stronger than the right.
The thorough ones take ~45-60 min. Mine have included walking normally, turning, walking heel to toe, walking on heels, walking on tiptoes, walking on hands (jk!), squatting, squeezing fingers, resisting pushes on arms legs & fingers, being pricked all over w/a pin, checking for gag reflex, checking for eye reflexes and probably more I can't even think of right now.
There is only one doc who ever examined me so thoroughly.
Oh, I was tested for identifying odors too.
I failed boh miserably ;(
Before I went to a nerologist about any of my symptoms I was a hard headed 18 year old (lol); so by the time I got to one I had no feeling and no reflexes in the upper right side of my body.
Now when I was 15 and having gosh awful "stress headaches" from my long neck - according to a doc - I think I would've passed a lot of neuro exams with flying colors.
Many neuro exams, never been given a pass/fail type response. Just ok, ohh and the like. And once an explanation for why things 'could be' the way they are but not a pass/fail type response.
