Please pray for my son

HI everyone, I know this isnt chiari related but as you know i have two children in remission from wilms tumor (kidney cancer) Well I had my oldest son to the ER thinking it was appenditist and and when they did the CT they said he had enlarged lymph nodes in his pelivs and had a cyst in his spleen. Well they said to take him to his PCP the next day and i did and they did a mono test and it was positive and they thought that the cyst was mono related. So i felt better (somewhat), well 4 days later they get the ER report and want a ultrasound on the cyst in his slpeen and I asked if they still think that its mono related and they sais no. (Huh!!!)  What the heck I'm tired and stressed. I read that cysts in the slpeen can be truama related and he does play sports rough ( he is 17 yrs old). But just pray that all works out I cant take anymore stuff in my life not for my sake but for my kid.

And on another note when i saw my NS 2 months ago they put me in a study ( for chiari) and sent it to Miami and they still havent heard anything back from the doctors down there, they said that they havent a board meeting yet. You know whats going to happen everything is going to happen at once. As long as my son is ok I dont care what they do to me.

Just to update you on my son, the ultrasound was ok and they are just going to watch him but if he gets any pain or if it gets bigger then they'll have to do something. But I feel better. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. And i still havent heard anything about the chiari study that my doctor put me in. Oh well they'll let me know when they find out something, meantime I'll just suffer. but hey my son is ok and he's more important!!!

Thanks Ray, that means alot!!! he has his ultrasound tomorrow morning (Feb. 17th) so i pray all goes well. i have been through so many ultrasounds with my other two that I can see things before the techs do. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh always warns new techs that I can see whats going on an have found things before they did. ;) Anyway thanks again and i will let you all know what the doctors say.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. It's nice to no that people really care. I was on a wilms tumor support group and when my second child got dx with the same cancer no one talked to me anymore. I no they where scared but i'm glad i have all of you!!!!!

And selma, yes it is Dr.Green, my NS just wants to make sure he is making the right move on surgery due to all of my other health matters. I hope to hear something soon. I'm glad he isnt to chop happy and really cares about the out some of what he does.

The strength of you moms continues to amaze me!! I'm sorry to hear that you are going through so much with your sons and yourself, it just doesn't seem fair.

My oldest son had mono too about 6 years ago and it did cause his spleen to enlarge about twice the size. I don't think there was a cyst of anything but I had to treat him like a china doll b/c there was a high chance of rupture. His spleen eventually went back down and he got back to normal life...however, I realize that they are saying that is not related now..

I send you prayers and strength...I really hope it is due to the mono, that will resolve on it's own.
