Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
For future reference always ask for copies of any and ALL testing you have...reports, CDs etc....
Many times Chiari is overlooked and deemed incidential.
A NL just will do more testing which is what you need at this point....we need ALL related and non related conditions such as S, Lymes, Lypus ruled out since the symptoms are similar. AND as for the related conditions Syringomyelia, tethered cord,ICP, POTS,sleep apnea, retroflexed odontoid, basilar invagnation,CCI, Hashimoto's thyroiditis...and a few I am missing I am sure....so you will want more MRI's brain, cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine as well as a CINE MRI to check for an obstruction to CSF flow....and they will check to see how large a herniation you have.It is not always that you have a herniation or that one is long that is troublesome....but if it is causing an obstruction to CSF flow or a compression of the brain stem or spinal cord.
Finding the right Dr is KEY !! That is the NS....if you find you need one.....not everyone is a surgical candidate .
Take this slow and educate yourself on Chiari and ALL related conditions so you will be able to select the right Dr for you.
