Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
As the other poster mentioned it is common for there to be a numb like sensation around an incision on ne part of the body...and this can feel quite odd on the back of the head....
I do not know if flipper had the decompression surgery for Chiari, but I am sure regardless the sensation was similar.
Healing from the decompression can take up to 2 yrs.....so patience is needed.
Thank you Flipper. Just wanted to see if it was something someone else has. Weird more than anything at this point. Hopefully goes away in next two weeks so I can work without that feeling. Doubt I could sit at the computer doing CPA work all day with my head feeling like a brick. LOL
I believe it is because of the nerves that were cut by the incision. When I had my operation I had some of the same feelings. Just give it some more time and if it is still worry some talk to your doctor the next time you go.
My head also feels super heavy. It just started this a couple of days ago.
