chadry

I have not yet had the surgery,  the last mri and the experts tell me that at this point it is just a MILD case at this point.  My herniation is 1CM and shows no fluid blockage at this point, and there is no syrnx that is forming as of May.  WE were in a traffic acciddent in april sitting still waiting to turn into my sub division when a car hit us doing an est. 45 miles an hour.  No warning, WHAM,  after mri's of the neck brain shoulder CT scans of the brain and memory testing it is determined that I have a mild concussion from the accident.  The van was a total mess.  I did not see it, with my somewhat recent back surgery and chairi malformation they took me out on a back board and c collar.  All I saw was the firemen and the sky and the top of the ambulance's roof.  My wife and one of our duaghters was in the van, my wifes shoulder was ll brusied up and our daughters was really no worse for wear we all went to the ER via ambulance.  I did not lose concisiousness but things did go black for a brief moment.

WE have yet to settle with her insurance at this point.  I have problems with typing as I am having to re learn the key board and peoples names at times that I have known for years.  Some times I know them and some times I do not.

No one in my family has this condition.  I have looked into my mothers side of 13 plus kids and so on that I can find.  No one has this.  There is always the big family reunion and no one has this that we know off.

They just look at me , like I am on drugs so to speak.  It is the deer in the headlight look.   I have been to the ER twice and have pretty much gave it up...

It is well you do  have the chairi malformation and that your  doc looks like he is just sitting on the side line for now and watching things.  Not much we can do at this time either.  Have a nice day.  I get numbness all over my face, cluster headaches it is what they call it.  I am on some meds that help and also go to acupunture treatment on me for $60.00 a visit once every three to 4 weeks.  I have tired the injections twice and no more no thanks that was noth very bad experiences and leave it at that.  They did not work for me!!!

It is all on the left side for the most part with my situation;  the left side on my face hurts 99.00% of the time.  It is very sensitive to light.  My left shoulder is still very much on the sore side, I spent 24 years in the Army and had two rotor culp surgeries on the left side.  This was also the  cause for my back situation / surgery. The wear and tear of the body in the army just wore my body out.  I never did deploy for some reason.  I feel so cheated in a way; all my brothers and sisters have been on at least one deployent and I was never requested to go.  I even asked to be mobilized with one of my old units and was not selected to  go.

I guess all things happen for a reason.  The entire left side of my body hurts; I am also diabetic due to the last surgery with my back.  The doc's said it must have been the stress of the  surgery that the pancrease had to endure sent it into over load and as a result I am diabetic.  It has been this way for close to three years now.  Here lately all  I want to do after 8 at night is to go to sleep.  I am going to see my family doc about this monday and perhaps then go back to the nuerologist and see what they all have to say about this.  It scares me in a way, what is it? Is  it from the chiari  malformation.  I can not find much about this in my research of the medical condition about it.

My daughter has a 1cm herniation with no fluid restrictions or syrinx either. the doctors decided after her last episode of getting sick which was the worse that surgery may be option for her now.
She has the headaches a few times a week and she also gets her dizziness. the last time she got sick scared me. We went to the ballgame and she got so car sick on the ride home. When we got here she started to have numbness in her hand than her arm and than on the one side of her gums in her mouht. Everything was one the one side. She finally was able to fall asleep on me in my bed. i was afraid to move became i did not want to wake her up.
I called her surgeon the next morning and told them what happened and they took her right in. She got new MRI"S which I need to get a copy of the report but he said everything looked the same as her last one. Which is good in a way. Even though her and your herniation is big it does not take up all the room back there. That is something to be thankful about.
She is OK again. A little dizzy yesterday morning. I know she gets fatigued easily though. It is such a hard decision to make about the surgery.,
Does anyone else in your family have chiari that you know of?
I think a few people around here should be checked. Some of the older kids, but they just blow it off when i tell them to get checked for it. I know I don't have it because i have had quite a few MRI'S of my neck from my problems and they say my tonsils are in the right spot and not below.
It took over 2 years for me to settle my case but it is W.C. so it is not like a motor vehicle case. I get nothing for pain and suffering. It is pretty cut and dry. You get a percentage for your disability and that is what they base your money on.
I had someone run into the back of my car a few years ago. I did not see it coming either. A big pick up truck. Thank goodness we were in my station wagon at the time. Me and my daughter both went out to get checked. ME because of my neck and her because of her CM. We were both OK. My other son was fine, but me and Elise both got a headache and stiff neck from it.
It is such a beautiful fall day today. It is about 77 degrees and all I want to do is sleep. I have not been able to get a good sleep in a few days. The burning pain will not let me sleep. I think I will attempt one more nap before I have to go to the food store. I need some rest cause tonight is a big ball game for us. My Phillies are trying to win the last game to go to the world series. i love it.
By the way if I have any spelling mistakes please just ignore them. I have been having the worst time the last few days trying to type. You are not the only one in that department. I think I fixed all the mistakes.
You take care of yourself.
