Has anyone been a total wreck before surgery?

I am!! My decompression surgery is scheduled Thurs. of this week at 8am. I finally found the right NS. His name is Dr. Canute at University Hosp in Syracuse. I have checked him out thoroughly and he is supposed to be one of the best around here when it comes to Chiari. He talked with me and discussed my symptoms and the surgery at great length. After 3 NLs and 3 NS's I found him, somebody that seemed to know his stuff! I guess I will really know after the surgery. I haven't posted much this past year but I try to read the posts and comments as much as I can. It has helped me out in every way that I can think of. Thank you all. You made me feel that I am not alone on this crazy journey we call Chiari Malformation. So yes, I am a wreck tonight, and doing a little bit of crying as I send this. Also, thanks sooo much Selma for all ur experiences and wisdom that came my way. I took all of ur comments and advice u gave to others and applied them to me and it all helped. So I guess by the end fo this week I will be one of those Zipperheads that I hear about. Thank You All for being here, I feel alittle more at ease.     Kathy

Hi Kathy....did u read my journal on my decompression....I wanted to ask them to stop when I got to the OR....I know just how u feel......like Elizabeth said it is normal to feel like this.....

I am so happy to hear u have a dr u r comfortable with and r looking forward to some relief. I pray u continue to be a member here and share ur experiences with those who have yet to find their dr.

Please have someone post updates on ur progress.

Good luck
