This is a video on the CSF web site, It is Dr Rich Ellenbogen explaining Chiari and Syringomyelia!
It even shows him doing surgey and the part where they cauterize the tonsils and it really doesnt look as bad as it sounds. I feel really good about who I get to see!

Great Video, Stacey! Thank you so much for sharing. Might sound silly, but it actually brought a tear to my eye watching the tonsils shrink like that; and the thought that relief would grow as they shrunk... Thank you!!!!!!!

oh I forgot, the AM of my surgery my NS wanted to go over details, I made him stop.....I had a good enuff idea and could not hear it just b4 going to the ER.....

I have issues just talking about some of the details...so the blood and what nots r icing on the cake....lol....no worries, it is what it is....my DD is the same way, I can't say the word ooze to her...lol....we r weird I know.....

I liked this. I've seen the surgery before, but always in long form, and you have to have a strong interest in the science behind it to want to watch a 2 hour operation, but this was nice and short, yet explained the basics.

I didnt know they were going to show surgery in the video until did, but I dont know if I need that surgery or not either. Watching that video helped me understand more about the doctor that I get to see.

I know...I never looked at any b4 sugery either...I didn't really want to be envisioning it b4 it happened lol

It is very interesting tho...I have a better time watching it after the fact!

Many of the chiari drs do have these videos out there, I am one who can not look,......lol....gives me the willies.....

But I am so glad u were able to benefit from it : )
