Its Official (:

I had the surgery March 9th. It took 3 and a half hours. I almost didn't wake up from anesisha(idk how to spell it)...But I'm still in the hospital. They almost sent me home 2nd day post op, but they are having trouble controlling my pain. I cant have ibuprofen due to stomach ulcers and they were afraid to give me IV pain meds due to the complication with the me almost not waking up... But I'm doing really good. I threw up right after surgery, but that night I had spaghettios (: And I haven't thrown up except tht one time. Thank God. I'm in a lot of pain, but besides tht, everything is going perfect. I'm having a lot of friends coming and visiting me. I should be going home if not tomorrow, then sunday. Thanks for all the prayers. (: I stayed strong. I haven't cried once because of pain. I wanna personally thank Molly for helping me through all of it, and checking up on me everyday to make sure I'm alright. But seriously all of you are angels. (:
So I guess I'm officially a zipperhead. (:

Welcome to the club, kiddo! We were rooting for you :) Sorry about the pain control, but I'm so glad that you did wake up! My son has had two surgical procedures and both times had asthma attacks and breathing trouble, so I know how scary going under is as a parent. Proud of you -- stay positive and don't forget to lean on those visitors for help :) People take comfort in being able to help out!

Much love and prayers,

Rosemarie

Hi Allison

So glad to here that you have made it through alright...it isn't fun being stuck in the hospital but it is probably better...I didn't get out until day 4.

Funny you say that about the anesthesia...I too had trouble waking up from it too. No one explained to me why they wouldn't give me IV meds..they just kept saying that my NS was very specific on what he wanted me to have. So..with that and my allergies, I ended up only getting Tylenol 3's....so I can totally relate to not having your pain controlled :( That really shed some light on it for me.

The pain will get better you just have to persevere...I really hope it eases up soon!

Take care and get lots of rest (if you can)

Carolyn

Bless your heart sweetie,
I am so glad you got through the surgery okay, but sorry you are having so much pain.
My sixteen year old eats spagetti O's right out of the can, so it must be teenage comfort food. I will continue to pray for quick healing for you, and that God takes away some of that pain. We can't have one of His little darlings in pain.  3.5 hours seems like all must of went very well in the OR, that is quick. I am glad it was not longer. Lots of (((HUGS))) and prayers dear. Will keep checking on your recovery.
Barb :)
