September is Chiari Malformation Awareness Month~~

Hi ALL wear ur purple and tell everyone about Chiari in the month of September to help get awareness for this condition that is not rare, (but Drs that can treat it  are) and we need to get more awareness in the medical community so we can get the support from family and friends that we all so desperately need...in addition to the proper care and  pain management.

So do what u can, join a Walk if u have one in ur area and let us know here what u r doing to help raise awareness for Chiari !!

I am wearing my glasses...lol...and I have my hoodie with me...so I will always have something purple.

I am doing the walk her in Knoxville, TN and I got the Ribbon magnet I made, have it on my car and I am going to put the flyer up on all six floors of the Cit and County bldg.

  No worries.....I have a pair of glasses and the chain to keep them close all purple so I have them on everyday, but I went out and got a purple hoodie...and a few other tops...etc so I had some too....lol....it was never a color I wanted to wear daily, but with it helping with awareness I am more them willing... : )

The more important thing is to get the word out : )

I don't own anything purple but my husband and I have just made a decission to get the purple awareness ribbon tattooed on us both but with mine having 2007 (the year I was diagnosed) on our ankles! I've been very naive about my chiari its like I've finally woken up!! Xx feeling lucky to have found this forum

  Good for u !! I know this is I think the 5th yr for the walk....I usually post about it but so many have already I did not want to repeat info....

They had walks closer to me a few yrs back right after my surgery but none around here now....and I can not host one so, mayb next yr.

The Chiari Walk Arcoss America is Spetember 21st and I am getting as many family and friends together to donate and walk with me. I just hope that when that day comes, my body cooperates! :)
