No worries : )
That is why this forum is so important to me, so no one feels alone....and knows they can talk with others that really understand.
Thank you :) you are a BIG comfort to all of us !!!! Some times no matter how much support you have around you from family and Friends & I know I am lucky because I am have a lot ...I still feel lonely because no one really knows how you feel.. Thanks again <3
Do make sure related conditions are ruled out B4 you have surgery as they can affect how you feel and heal post op.
No you are not crazy....but it is sad so many Drs think we all may be.....sigh...hang in there and keep pushing for answers,
Thank you guys so much !!!! I do have a good NS, but when I ask him other questions like the memory loss or anything else he suggested to find a locale neurologist, (because he is 3 hrs away from where I live.) that can help me.. and the fist guy I saw sent me to a neuropsychologist for an evaluation test..that came back perfectly fine!! I GUESS I AM NOT CRAZY .. The 2nd dr I saw didn't know what to say and told me everything I said, the dizziness, short term memory
loss, choking, blurry vision, we're not related to Chiari..both doctors could not get me out of their office fast enough!!! Now I am seeing a new Dr who seems to have taken some interest in me or pity ,I'm not sure?? but I told her all I've been thru and how the short term is getting worse so she is going to do more test ( an EEG) just to rule out this week.. But thank you so much for responding!!! My surgery was scheduled for Nov.4th and got denied again ,these insurance companies really think they have the rite to hold your life in their hands..
The thing that will make you frustrated the most is when people jokingly comment that memory changes are a part of aging and that we all experience it some time. I have always had a memory like an elephant. I can remember seating arrangements of classes I had in high school! (And today is my 51st birthday)! But the short term memory issue that is bothering you is a very real Chiari-related symptom. I am not knowledgeable about the anatomical explanation behind this memory loss. What I do know - as Selma says - a true Chiari specialist will know the validity of your symptoms - and give you the office time that you deserve.
Yes, the short term memory issue we all tend to have.....and trying to find words at times....frustrating as all get out.
Once you get to a true Chiari specialist you will see that you have more related to Chiari then most Drs will acknowledge....
