Dizziness, vertigo, blurred vision, ect.

I saw on the board that many have these symptoms.  I also have the ringing in the ears.  Is this all part of Chiari?  I am 2 1/2 years out from decompression.  I have been to doctors but they give me no answers.  I get dizzy just turning my head at times or turning around in the shower, going around a rack of clothes, ect.  Vertigo comes and goes.  When the first episode happened I was kept in the hospital as I felt like something snapped in the back of my head, found it hard to talk and mixing my words, feeling confused, and not recalling things for a time.  I was overnight in hospital and released.  I had four weeks of intense physical therapy for the vertigo and released.  Sent to Nero eent doctor.  He sent me for testing for the vertigo and that is what the diagnoses was but they did not address the dizziness.  Have seen my eye doctor (specialist) and said he thinks the blurred vision may be from floaters.  I have a very large amount of them but I feel like I am looking through suranwrap (sp).  Does it continue for ever?  What can be done for it?   Is there a special doctor I should be seeing?

I do not have a Chiari doctor.  But the surgeon did an MRI and said it looked fine.  I do not know what kind of dura patch because I was in a blind study.  I have not been able to find a doctor to help out.  They keep sending me to different doctors for each symptom.  And, each one only addresses oone thing at a time.  They don't see the whole picture but only part of it.  No they did not rule out anything before surgery.  I went from an orthopedic doctor who picked upon the Chiari and sent me to the surgeon.  My surgeon said the Chiari needed to be done asap and we did it within a month of learning about it.  That is as far as I have gone due to all of the above.  I do not know much about Chiari at all.

Hi yes those can be Chiari related or related to a condition that often goes hand in hand with Chiari....Did you have ALL related conditions ruled out b4 your surgery?

Also did they place a dura patch and if so what type....sometimes the body can reject a patch and can cause all sorts of havoc......

What was the results of your post op MRI?

Depends on what is the cause of what is going on and to find out if your PCP is good at helping out have him/her rule out the related conditions to see what is going on....did they do a new MRI since you have had these issues?
