So confused

I was involved in a car accident in April of last year where I was the restrained passenger. We were hit on the driver said from a car going about 30 mph. The driver walked away fine with no issues, I on the other hand did not fair so well. I went back to work following the accident and was seen in urgent care that night because my right shoulder was killing me so bad, nothing really wrong there. I went to work the following day and drove to urgent care due to me feeling really out of it, pupils were dilated, couldn't talk, and was just bad. Urgent Care sent me to the ER, but they said I was fine and sent me home. Thinking I was fine I went back to work not being able to see a Primary until almost a month later. I was diagnosed with PCS (post concussion syndrome) and sent on my way. Things have not gotten better at all and at points my primary tells me that its all in my head.

I had surgery in September of last year to repair a labral tear in my right shoulder and coded 3 times in recovery from what I was told. I went through PT for my shoulder but was still having issues with my concussion and neck. So my PT checked out my neck and said that it was really tight and did some myofacial release but I passed out as soon he started doing anything. I went to see a Chiropractor in December of last year and told him what had happened, as soon as he started doing an traction on my neck I got dizzy and almost passed out. It was he that suggested that I may have an undiagnosed Chiari Malformation because of the symptoms. My primary has told me that theres no such thing and I couldn't have it, I know that something isn't right. Could it be a Chiari Malformation with these symptoms? Headaches, dizziness, speech/word finding problems, crunching sound coming from neck when I talk, crunching/cracking sound when I move my neck, bulge at the base of my skull that disappears when I lay down, memory issues (I cant remember all things, when I try to pull something from memory I cant verbalize it), chills, and tingling/static feeling across my head, unable to focus for long periods of time, and possible seizures (undiagnosed)

Sorry its so long but Im hoping someone can help me out.

Also have had a mri brain (normal/laying down) and mri C-spine (mild Cervical Spondylosis at c5-c6 with ddd and bulge)

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
Yes it is possible you have Chiari and that the MVA triggered your symptom to flare....Chiari symptoms cycle so they come and go and we attribute them to other reasons...flu, or just over doing it....we do not connect the dots until we have an injury, fal , MVA and sometimes the flu cna rigger symptoms to flare and worsen....

There are many Drs that do not believe that Chiari can and does affect us in the way it does....so educate yourself on Chiari and ALL related conditions.

Do you have cpies of your MRI's? If not, contact the facility that did the studies and request both a copy of the MRI on disk as well as a copy of the report...going forward request copies of ALL testing including blood labs.
