Thank you all for your responses it is really helpful to be able to communicate with others with similar symptoms - and Merry Christmas to All.
I had to avoid straining because the instant severe headache isn't worth it. Its like 0-10 on a pain scale in 2 seconds... And I have come close to blacking out on numerous occasions. Everyone will be different based on their individual case.
That all depends on how u r being affected and how severe of a CSF obstruction u have.....by straining u cause a blockage of the flow which can cause u to black out etc....possibly even stop breathing, again depending on how u r being affected....ur Dr should be able to inform u just what the issues may be....
It will deff cause more pain and symptoms to flare...if u have a drop attack as a result the fall could cause other injuries,,,,,I had one and needed 2 surgeries on my knee and ankle....
Only ur Dr can tell u just how this may affect u.
Can it cause permanent damage or any health risks? or is it more of an inconvenience...
Hi those with Chiari type I will have a flare up of symptoms from ne type of strain....climbing stairs carrying something, lifting, even having a BM...a cough, or sneeze,.
This strain may also cause u to have a drop attack or black out and y it is advised we refrain from straining.
