MRI report help me understand this please/?
My MRI report says.... i have a giant cisterna magnum considered anatomic variant .There are low lying cerebellar tonsils but definite chiari 1 malformation is not indenified ..i dont get it lol.. i also have spina bifida occulta and scoliosis. I have really bad migraines in my neck and back of my head,my vision goes black for a sec. i also vomit when i get this..im dizzy and really bad body pain ..cronic fatigue ...im about to give up... im just 22 years old been putting up with this since i was 10...just geting worse..any info will be great...
You really need to send your films to a specialist. What does your doctor say about this? If you are not getting the attention you deserve then get a second or third opinion.

The first thing u need to have done is more testing...find out if u have a CSF obstruction and overcrowding...this along with symptoms will define if u have chiari more so than the size of ur herniation which most drs use as a means to define it.
With all the other related issues, I doubt that u do not have it...but, I am not a dr.
U should be tested for tethered cord as well.....
As lilmiss stated u have to push for the answers and to get the right dr...we do have a list of drs here, but it is not a referral, it is to be used as a means to help u research drs known by other members here as treating chiari.
