update on pcp visit today..........

went to my family dr today...he ordered another cervical mri because when i had my 2 month post op with dr oro there was swelling in surgical area....family dr wants to see whats going on now and if swelling is still there? he can see how swollen my neck is just by looking at it.....he also wants to know if it is< what dr oro plans on doing???? UGH!!!! also referring me to a new nl so i will have 2 instead of one....the one i have now has too many patients and so i will see him when i can which is usually only twice a year....he said he will make sure the other nl deals with chiari....also had more labwork to check b12 again, tired of being poked. put on yet another med, paxil for anxiety. was on it before, dont have a clue why i stopped taking it, lol.......still having headaches and syncope with certain head movements, drs a bit concerned for he thought 2nd decompression would help....very frusterated, tired of appts. but gotta love my pcp, hes very thorough. good drs dont come along very often

Glad to hear your having an MRI and that you have an awesome PC.  I know I'm very thankful for mine also.  Wishing you the best and all will work out.  Having more than 1 surgery takes a toll on our bodies and it does take a longer time to heal.  Be patient and tomorrow will be a better day.

Well keep in mind not all with BI need to have surgery for it and sometimes the PFD will help eliminate some of the issues....My NS decided not to touch mine and see how the  PFD helped.....

It all depends how far up it has moved and around it rotated.,...I know I am to go for more surgery and I was told I could have more drop attacks with the issues the way they sit, this is y I am not to drive bcuz of the way I may turn my neck/head to view oncoming traffic could cause the drop attack...I have been lucky in avoiding that...

He may have felt that it would be ok post op....I do not know....when do u see him again?

Ok that explains and reminds me...lol....see what a few days away does...I forget to begin with...but goodness...sigh....

Do u know if the odontoid is reversed completely? or how much it is encroaching ?

I agree with the PCP statement as I have a great one too, not sure where I would be without him....

Bless your heart sweetie! you have really been through the ringer! I am praying for you daily as I know you are getting frustrated being poked and prodded all the time! My dad told me I should've come with a warranty as I started falling apart at the seams way before I should've! Lol! I am glad you have such a wonderful pcp! You are absolutely right, that makes all the difference in the world and they don't come around very often! :)
Keep me posted and I will keep praying! (((((HUGS)))))

  Hi Dana,

I know all the poking an prodding is not fun...but the end justifies the means...ur Dr is doing all of this to make sure u r ok....

U said u still have syncope with certain head movements....have they ruled out  a retroflexed odontoid, POTS, ICP, or bulging disks?

Im sorry you're having such a rough time.  Is anything better?
It seems like there's a missing piece that no one is getting.  Maybe it's just taking a long time to heal.
(DH is on week 9 of broken leg, so we've learned a lot about taking a long time to heal).
