I am glad that your going to see your PH. Hope you get some answer's. I have taken Selma's suggest and started my Vit's again yesterday. Thanks Selma. Went out and got Magnesium yesterday. So I'll see if that help's with the sleep issue. Good luck at the Dr. Let us know how you are doing.

There is NO blood work for EDS it is a physical NL exam....then once u r determined to have the markers u r sent to a geneticist for a skin biopsy.
A rheumatoid Dr is one that treats EDS one u have the DX.
Foe the thyroid issue most with chiari seem to be blessed with u want them to check ur TSH, free T3 and free T4 and TPO antibodies, this is to check for Hashimoto's thyroditis it is an auto immune condition.
All vitamin and mineral levels as Ray mentioned should be checked as well....vit D, B12, magnesium and potassium.
Take a note with all ur concerns written on it, tell ur PCP that these are issues for those with Chiari...even tho he/she may not know what chiari is, u can educate them.

A routine non specific screen should cover full blood count, liver function, kidney function, cholesterol, glucose(diabetes), thyroid function.
You need to fast (12 hours) before having some of these bloods tested.
Electrolyte Panel can show abnormal sodium and potassium levels.
People with bladder problems related to CM who experience severe fluid loss may show an increase in potassium, sodium, and chloride. Some forms of muscle and nerve problems may also have one or more abnormal electrolytes.
Does your pcp know what chiari is? I also starr pt tomorow and im scared that they wont know what it is either. Im gettin tired of explaining my illness to drs lol
I just make a list and tell mine what I would like. She is always open to my ideas and says you have to be your own advocate. I hope yours is the same today:) just ask
