Update on decompression surgery on 1/3/13

Hey everyone! So you all asked me to post an update after my surgery. My surgery was 4 days ago on January 3 and I'm doing decent I guess. The surgeon said I will hate him for the first few weeks and so far i do. The first day was awful I must say. That god my sister and brother and parents were there or else I don't kno if I would have survived the first few days. The first day I could not move my head or body at all I was in so much pain: but after upping my drugs I was able to lift  my head a little from lying down. I was also able to walk a few steps. I was sent home after 3 days. I'm still the same as the second day but way better then the first. My sister is an oncology floor RN and she spent the nights with me and took a few days off to some time wih me at home: I'm so glad the surgery is done and can hopefully move onto a better lifestyle when I heal. I fully recommend dr. Deluna at Yale. He was amazing!

So happy to hear your doing well.  It is a blessing to have a supporting family.  I also had family members who were with me for the 1st few days and it helps so much.  I'm glad to hear your doing so well.  It does give those who still has to deal with surgery be assured that all will go well.  Keep up the good healing, and remember to rest, rest, and rest.
Linda :)
