Update

Hello everyone. I had my surgery on 5 April 2011 at TCI. Everything went well, I was out in 4 days, we stayed in NY till the 14th. We flew back home to Texas on the 14th. I have really not been doing to much. I have noticed a lot of the symptoms are gone or are less intense than they were. Dr. B did the surgery, the only problem that I have is that he gave me no list of restrictions. I have even emailed him this week to see if he would tell me something different. I know that common sense tells me that I can not go back to what I was doing before surgery. I would like everyone's opinion on what restrictions should be, I know that there are several people on here that had Dr. B. I had the decompression and crainal plasty done. I have no other problems that we know of. I feel good, I am only taking the muscle relaxers at night so I am able to sleep. Hope everyone is doing good or as well as expected. Hope to hear from some one about the restrictions.

Kristi

HI  I will look for my list, but one I remember very well is no bending, and no lifting even to pick up a piece of lint....no pushing a vacuum, or carrying nething up stairs....

Ur body will indicate what u can and can not do, I am almost 2 yrs post op and can finally do some things I was not able to do post op...like lift a gallon of milk, I can't carry it for too long, but I can lift it...lol...

U also should have been given exercises to do, I was given them while still in the hospital by the PT that  came around....I will add a link to the page of them I had-http://www.medhelp.org/user_photos/show/171420?personal_page_id=197028&photo_collection_id=1369

I know I was told no washing my hair for a 2weeks....to wash the entire head., coloring my hair for  6 months.....

AS for how long with lifting, it depends on how u heal, and recover...so sit back and relax u have a few months of taking it very slow...walking is good...turning ur neck is good...nothing else much.....wait till ur 6 week Dr visit to see where u r with the healing process.
