VP shunt question

Pain in right quad that hurts when I move.    The stupid bottom of my shunt is rubbing up against my pelivic bone. And when I walk or do certain movements. It like cradles and digs in.   Any one else have a shunt and experienced similar issues?

Since the shunt put in.  I have lost over 45lbs and the tail is too long and fell to low.  So I think that is part of the problem.........  Pressure off pituitary.  It puffed back up. No more Cushing like symptoms.  No more weight like issues. I still have to work at it. But at least it is coming off like it should with the effort now. : ). Hormones going back to normal. : ).  See I told them it wasn't all my fault.  Lol

I am on topamax again and now it is finally working.  I guess u fix other issues and it can help.    And my herniation is slipping but he wants to fix all the other stuff first because it is showing no signs of pressure or cause for problems before he does decompression. (no blokage) actualy the slip gave room and flow increased. Strange.    I feel normal.   And damn tube is slowin me down. Lol

I want to do pilates.    I miss it. I want to dance again.  Well as much as my age allows. Lol.

Amywys.  Crazy rant over. Lol. If any one has ideas thank you.   : ).

That is good to hear!!!  You should be proud to be losing the weight but that is too bad that it messed with the shunt.  I am happy to hear the operation was not too terrible.  After having three on my head I just don't want anymore surgeries.

Zygy. It was not to terrible.   And I did not notice the drain at all until I started loosing the weight an now the tail is too long.  The NS can go in and shorten it but that is another surgery.  And I keep loosing the weight. He wants to wait and see when would be a good spot so he can do one surgery and than shorten it.   But other than I don't notice it at all.

Seeing your post spooks me a bit, I have had three surgeries and they think I keep leaking because of pressure issues so they may choose to do a shunt.  I am seeing how living with my leak goes.  I really really don't want a shunt!  How was the surgery for it?  The thought of it in me is just kind of weird.  I had a drain after Surgery three and did not enjoy it one bit! LOL

Selma.  Maybe some day we can dance togeter. Lol.  If not.  We both have beautiful daughters that dance.  And though mine is only 6.  I know yours is very succesful in it.   So I guess what God took away from us he gave to them.   That is what I keep telling myself.   So maybe I Gould want to too bad.   Lol.

Minor inconviences I guess in comparison.       You have been such a huge support to me through everything.     I would not have made it sane though all this without you.  Thank you. Though we have never met.  You really are a speacial person.   Thank u again.
