A call from the NS

Well, although he is still hesitant, I have an appointment on Wednesday to talk about surgery.  I heard those words and became a bit scared and excited at the same time.   I will keep you posted.

I know how you feel about being scared and excited.... I am both as well.  I am excited that it may be the new improved rest of my life... and scared of surgery all together.  Is this NS a Chiari specialist?  There is a difference between a NS who occasionally sees chiari and one who focuses his practice on this disease.  From what I have read the risk of complications incluidng more surgery is alot less with someone who specializes.  My doc has done over 800 successful Chiari surgeries and that is a question you should be sure to ask.  How many has he done?

Good luck and be sure to let us know how it goes.
