Weird Episode...

Hey Everybody,

I had a weird thing happen to me today - I am not sure if it is Chiari related or not - so I am wondering if it had happened to any of you. Even if it has, I think I will go see a doctor was well.

A week ago I had a massage - my NS approved me getting them, but I am not sure it was a good idea. Since then I have been having more vertigo and blacking out than usual - I'm not sure if it was triggered by the massage or just a natural thing. Perhaps caused by hormone changes (when I was a teenager I had blacking out, collapsing and vertigo often - I think because of hormone levels.) I have been feeling a bit anxious about it, and after what happened today I am concerned.

A couple hours ago, I got up to go get my dogs brush from the cupboard in the laundry room. Upon arriving in the laundry room my head felt funny, my can't remember if my eyesight went out and I found myself collapsing, which I am reasonably used to. What freaked me out is that my body was jerking, and I couldn't control it. Normally when I have these episodes I can think clearly, and it is easy for me to understand what is going on and even listen to conversations around me, even if I am unable to respond in the moment. This time however, was different. I was confused, and seemed like I forgot where I was. Body was jerking, yet I was somehow able to get myself to the ground someone safely by dropping (maybe I fell??? but I didn't just drop...I was able to control it enough that I could land on my knees), and then leaning forward on my arms with my head between them. I didn't know where I was, or why I was there for a moment. Then some time (I don't know how long...) later it went away, I remembered why I was there, what I was doing and I was able to get up and keeping doing what I had intended.

To me this sounds like a partial seizure - but  I am not really sure. Have any of you experienced this?

Like I said, I will talk to my Doctor about it - but I am feeling a bit nervous.

Sunny

What an horrible experience.  You have to get this checked out.  I have had vertigo and that alone is awful.  Just try to keep yourself safe.  Have you had your sodium level checked.  My NS told me having low sodium will make your body go into seizures.  I never knew this.  Let us know how it goes.  Good luck

Hi
This happened to me on several occasions. It used to happen in the street :) ever so embarrassing. I had surgery shortly after and it's not happened since. I had a dangerous low sodium levels according to doctors although he never confirmed this is why it happened.

Before surgery. These episodes controlled my life and were scary i can really emphasise with u. It was super hard going.

I don't get them anymore - but I'm on sodium tablets? And I'm a zipperhead?

I'm nt sure if they are chiari related but do let us know what/If u find out x

We need to have all levels checked as our magnesium, potassium, sodium and Vitamins can  all fluxuate causing many similar symptoms to what we list as chiari symptoms....

One can affect the other creating a domino effect.....sooooo do be advised and question ur Drs.
