Hi Lisa,
Glad to know I'm not crazy! I sure feel like it sometimes and it's a lonely feeling. Can you hear what sounds like grinding sand when you move your neck? I get that and my neck pops in all different octives whenever I move it. My lower back is excruciating as well. Is that from pressure on the spine? It's embarassing to ask these questions sometimes because it seems like every inch of body has an ailment when I say it out loud!
Thanks for your response. Kim
Hi Hevn...
I read your post and just wanted to say your description matches my headaches as well. My head has a heavy pressure feeling like no headache I have ever had, my ears hurt as feel full.... they even crackle when I swallow. This headache for me has progressed slowly in intensity since January along with too many other weird symptoms to list here. Mainly I wanted you to know you are not crazy, nor alone. No one understands this level of suffering until they experience it. Hang in there we will get well. Lisa :-)
No worries, let me know if u have ne issues navigating to find the list : )
selmaS and nicci1983,
I am unable to tilt my head back due to pain. Tilting my head forward or backward does nothing but cause pressure, headache and neck pain. I sound like a mess. But thank you nicci1983 for your advice, I just can't do that...and thank you selmaS...as always.
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
Do u also have a DX of Chiari?....What tests have u had so far, and what do ur Drs tell u regarding ur issues?
Many with Chiari can also have a condition called POTS which is postural....but if u have Chiari read the above post as it deals with the tilting back of the head.
It is best not to tilt ur head back once u know u have Chiari, it can cause compression of the cerebral tonsils that have herniated.
See our list of activities to avoid, it also has suggestions for position of the head and neck as well,.--

Changes to weather patterns as well as temp can also affect how we feel in addition to what we do on a daily basis, so it is something we all have dealt with.
Hi. Do you have blackouts as well? and does the pain in your eyes feel better when you lay down or tilt your head back?
