alcohol?

I was just wondering if anyone else has maybe experienced this or if it is anything related to my Chiari.
I have stopped all social drinking since this but a couple of years ago before I knew I had Chiari , every time I would drink alcohol, mainly vodka i would get this intense neck and upper back pain. my best friend would have to rub my neck and shoulders for half an hour or more because it was UN bearable. My doctor at the time had no explaination just told me to stop drinking. I'm just curious because everyone including me found it very strange

For me I dont process alcohol like other people.  It makes me feel horrible even a small amount.  My husband makes his own beer and I have found that is better than others as it doesnt have preservatives. It is another weird thing with chiari.

Alcohol is of what i heared not good for chiari and migraine patients as it extends veins and causes lil inflammation and aks especially on the cerebellum.maybe thats why

  Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

If there is one thing I have learned in dealing with Chiari, neone can have ne symptom and it may not be like neone elses....we r all so diff in how this affects us....and strange, yeah, most everything that has happened to me I felt was strange as well....

U need to find out how ur Chiari is affecting u and ur overall health, it may give clues as to y u had those issues with alcohol, and it may not, but u do need to know.

Find a true chiari specialist and get more testing done.
